This project, inspired by the Vision in Product Design methodology from Delft University of Technology, focuses on framing its domain and analyzing the current state of the art. It delves into aspects such as brand, market analysis, and company competences, particularly within the expanding product portfolio of the Kärcher Group. By envisioning the future context of city cleaning in 2030, a future vision is created along with guiding principles derived from the analogy of a canary in a coal mine. The project culminates in a design strategy proposing a shift for Kärcher towards ensuring optimal urban living conditions rather than solely focusing on product development. This strategy involves active participation in shaping urban environments through sensing technologies and autonomous sweepers.

Additionally, it suggests fostering expert networks and supplier relationships to maintain a leading edge in innovation and gain long-term competitive advantage.
